BLK Events LA is a social platform and marketing agency radically transforming the way Los Angeles natives, transplants, and tourists connect to the Black community.
Created in 2023 by Jocelyn C Chambers, our platform has functioned as a centralized database showcasing events, businesses, and experiences for people of all ages, identities, and interests.
We share:
Tuesdays: The RoundUp, our email newsletter sharing up to 100 events. Events are separated into the categories of Art + Community, Live Music, and Parties, with an emoji legend making it easy to find things you may enjoy!
Thursdays: Short video roundup to TikTok & Instagram. Consider this the highlights of our newsletter!
Last Sundays: Monthly calendar sharing up to 175 events via email newsletter & Socials. Black History Month and Juneteenth go crazy around here!

We host:
Community Walk Series
Every second Saturday of the month between February and December, we walk a different neighborhood in support of a local Black-owned business. We’ve walked everywhere from Lancaster to Long Beach, raising tens of thousands of dollars for businesses along the way. All walks are 1.5 to 2-miles, prioritize flat terrain, and are family-friendly!
Sip & Grind with Black Girls Love Coffee Shops
Every second Wednesday of the month, we host a monthly co-working meet up with Black Girls Love Coffee Shops. Founded in the DMV by Lienna Feleke-Eshete, BGLC is a global social club for Black women, femmes, and gender-expansive folks who love coffee and tea. Our flagship meeting location is Flavors From Afar, a Black woman-owned, refugee-led café and restaurant in East Hollywood. The LA Chapter is led by BLK Events LA, The Chocolate Barista, and Naomi Mengistu.
Sintober
Sintober is an annual October-long series of Halloween events inspired by Ryan Coogler’s iconic horror film SINNERS. Co-produced by BLK Events LA, Literature Noir, and Gracen Imani Fling, Sintober hosts everything from film discussions and and author brunches to authentic Juke Joints.
